Intro

[C][C[-]]C[F]om[(x2)]e dow[F]n, O[C] lov[Am]e divine, [F]seek [G]Thou this soul of mine,
And[Dm] visit it w[F]ith Thine[G] ow[C]n ardor glowing.
[F]O Comforter[C/E], dra[Gm]w near,[Dm] with[C]in [G]my heart appear,
  C/E   F   G  - [ C - F (x2) ]
And kindle it, Thy holy Flame bestowing.
[C]O let [F]it fr[C]eely [Am]burn, til [F]earthl[G]y passions turn
To[Dm] dust and [F]ashes in i[G]ts [C]heat consuming;
[F]And let Thy g[C/E]loriou[Gm]s light[Dm] shine[C] ev[G]er on my sight,
C/E   F   G  [ C - F (x2) ]
And Clothe me round, the while my path illuming.
[C]Let hol[F]y [C]cha[Am]rity mine[F] outw[G]ard vesture be,
And[Dm] lowline[F]ss become [G]min[C]e inner clothing;
[F]True lowlin[C/E]ess of[Gm] heart, whi[Dm]ch ta[C]kes [G]the humbler part,
  C/E   F   G [ C - F (x2) ]
And o'er its own shortcomings weeps with loathing.
[C]And so [F]the ye[C]arni[Am]ng strong, w[F]ith wh[G]ich the soul will long,
Shal[Dm]l far out-pas[F]s the pow[G]er [C]of human telling;
[F]For none can g[C/E]uess i[Gm]ts grace[Dm], til[C]l he[G] become the place
  C/E   F   G  [ C - F (x2) ] - C
Wherein the Holy Spirit makes His dwelling.
